In 2024, Amy Winfrey discovered her name on a list of 4733 artists whose art was used to train the Midjourney AI art program so that AI could tirelessly and endlessly mimic their art styles when prompts included their names. None of the artists consented to be on this list, and their art was harvested without their knowledge or consent. In response, Amy made the film, "AI Training." It received over two million views on TikTok and many comments. Her follow-up film, "It Deserves to be Stolen" was made to address one of the comments.
